The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
