The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]. 1 Yet if they see a sign they turn away, and they say 'A continuous sorcery!' 2 And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term. 3 there has come to them many a tiding wherein there are warnings, 4 which are full of wisdom; but the warnings do not help. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 their eyes will be humbled as they come out from their graves as if they were scattered locusts, 7 Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.” 8 ۞ [LONG] BEFORE those [who now deny resurrection] did Noah's people call it a lie; and they gave the lie to Our servant and said, "Mad is he!" - and he was repulsed. 9 So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. 10 And so We caused the gates of heaven to open with water pouring down in torrents, 11 and We caused the earth to burst with gushing springs: so that the waters met for a purpose which had been decreed. 12 And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails, 13 Which sailed right under Our eyes: A recompense for him who had been denied. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 16 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 17 Ad treated (the truth) as a lie, so how (great) was My punishment and My warning! 18 Behold, We let loose upon them a raging storm wind on a day of bitter misfortune: 19 It swept people away as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees. 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 22
