The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
