I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 About the guilty: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
