In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
