The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 About which they differ? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
