The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and guard their private parts 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 to their promise, 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
