S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
SAD. I CALL to witness the admonishing Qur'an. 1 But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. 2 How many generations We have destroyed before them! And they cried out when it was too late to escape. 3 They wondered that a warner had come to them from among themselves, and the deniers of the Truth said: “This is a sorcerer, and a big liar. 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 and [the tribe of] Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan]: they all were leagued together, [as it were, in their unbelief:] 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
