No! By the moon 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
