The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
