And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
