(The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 "So fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no hire therefor: my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 and erect huge palaces as though you will live for ever, 129 “And when you apprehend someone, you seize him mercilessly?” 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 "He has aided you with cattle and children. 133 And orchards and springs. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 That is nothing but a habit of the ancients, 137 We will not be subjected to any chastisement." 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 140
