(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 Proclaim, “Go on waiting – I too am waiting along with you.” 31 Enjoin them their understandings to this? or are they a people conumacious? 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient upon your Lord’s command, (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), for you are indeed in Our sight; and proclaim the Purity of your Lord while praising Him, whenever you stand. 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
