The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
