The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
