The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
(All) praise is due to Allah, Who revealed the Book to His servant and did not make in it any crookedness. 1 so that he could warn them of His stern retribution, give the glad news of the best and everlasting reward to the righteously striving believers, 2 In which they will remain forever 3 Further, that He may warn those (also) who say, "Allah hath begotten a son": 4 (A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that cometh out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie. 5 Yet it may be, if they believe not in this statement, that thou (Muhammad) wilt torment thy soul with grief over their footsteps. 6 Surely We have made whatever is on the earth an embellishment for it, so that We may try them (as to) which of them is best in works. 7 We will surely reduce all that is on it to barren dust. 8 Or deemest thou that the People of the Cave and the Inscription are a wonder among Our portents? 9 [Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance." 10 Therefore We covered up their (sense of) hearing (causing them, to go in deep sleep) in the Cave for a number of years. 11 Then roused them to ascertain which of the two groups could account for the period they had stayed. 12
