The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
