Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
