'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 Do you build monuments on every high place in vanity, 128 and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants! 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 succoured you with flocks and sons, 133 And gardens and springs. 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They said: it is equal unto us whether thou admonishest or art not of the admonishers. 136 This is naught but a custom of the ancients; 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
