Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 What though they would say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
