Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 Warn the men. 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 From the guilty. 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
