Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape; 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 Except Iblis (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
