Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim 1 By the Scripture which maketh plain, 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you, for that you are a prodigal people? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the earlier peoples! 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
