Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a lofty garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
