The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
