The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
