The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Quraish (Quraish) before Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The terrible calamity! 1 What is the startling calamity? 2 And what have you understood, what the event that terrifies the hearts is! 3 On that day, people will be like scattered moths 4 and the mountains shall be like fluffs of carded wool in varying colours. 5 Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds], 6 He will live a pleasant life. 7 But as for him whose deeds are light on the scales, 8 Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit. 9 And what will explain to thee what this is? 10 A flaming fire! 11
