Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
