The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
