'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 Make my task easy 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 so that they may understand me. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my household. 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 and associate him with me in my task. 32 That we may glorify Thee much 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 [Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 But speak unto him in a mild manner, so that he might bethink himself or [at least] be filled with apprehension. 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 He said; fear not; verily I shall be with you twain: I shall hear and see. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 He said, 'Our Lord is He who gave everything its creation, then guided it.' 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
