۞ And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example). 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And had We so willed, [O you who worship angels,] We could indeed have made you into angels succeeding one another on earth! 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 And do not ever let the devil stop you; he is indeed your open enemy. 62 When Jesus came with clear proof (in support of his truthfulness), he said, "I have come to you with wisdom to clarify for you some of the matters in which you have disputes. Have fear of God and obey me. 63 Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path: 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 Are they looking for aught but the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they are not aware? 66 All intimate friends on that day will become each others enemies except for the pious, 67
