Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
