Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
