The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then he mustered 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
