Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
