Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 a guide and a mercy for those who do good, 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. 7 Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss 8 To abide therein. It is a Promise of Allah in truth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
