Verily the tree of Zaqqum 43 is the food of the guilty, 44 Like the dregs of all! It shall seethe in the bellies: 45 Like the boiling of hot water. 46 'Seize him and drag him into the center of Hell. 47 "Then pour over his head the torment of scalding water." 48 Taste this, you are a person mighty and noble! 49 "Verily! This is that whereof you used to doubt!" 50 Surely those who fear and follow the straight path will be in a place of peace and security 51 In the midst of gardens and of springs, 52 wearing [garments] of silk and brocade, facing one another [in love]. 53 Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 54 They will call therein for every kind of fruit in peace and security; 55 They shall not taste death except the death in this world. And Allah will save them from the chastisement of Hell 56 By the beneficence of your Lord. This will be the great success. 57 Certainly, We have made this (Quran) easy in your tongue, in order that they may remember. 58 Wait thou then; verily they also are waiting. 59

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
