Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The sure calamity! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a high Garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
