The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 About the great news - 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
