The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And who softly release the soul. 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
