The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 while they sat around it, 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
