(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And make my mission easy. 26 and my tongue fluent 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 to support me. 31 And let him share my task 32 “In order that we may profusely proclaim Your Purity.” 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 Indeed, We showed Our favour to you before also, 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance." 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
