Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am nothing but a warner. There is no deity but Allah, the One, the Supreme, 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Mighty, the Pardoning. 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 (And) you are turning aside from it: 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 "Only this has been inspired to me, that I am a plain warner." 70 When your Lord said to the angels; Surely I am going to create a mortal from dust: 71 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down making obeisance to him. 72 Then the angels, all of them, prostrated themselves before Adam 73 Not so Iblis: he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith. 74 Said He: "O Iblis! What has kept thee from prostrating thyself before that [being] which I have created with My hands? Art thou too proud [to bow down before another created being,] or art thou of those who think [only] of themselves as high?" 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 He said: Go forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast, 77 My curse will remain upon you till the Day of Judgement!" 78 He said: My Lord! then respite me to the day that they are raised. 79 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 80 Until the Day of the time appointed. 81 He said: Then by Thy Might I will surely make them live an evil life, all, 82 except Your sincere servants among them". 83 He (i.e. Allah) said: “This is the Truth -- and I only speak the Truth -- 84 I will fill up Hell with you and every one of them who follows you." 85 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'For this I ask of you no wage, and I am not of those who take things upon themselves. 86 It is but a reminder to the worlds. 87 You will certainly know its truthfulness after a certain time. 88
