Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 We have realized that we could never thwart God on earth and that we would never be able to thwart Him by flight. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Quran, and practice not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter in a severe torment (i.e. Hell). 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
