The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
