T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. 6 Be thou loud in thy speech, yet surely He knows the secret and that yet more hidden. 7 Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. 8 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses! 11 Lo! I, even I, am thy Lord, So take off thy shoes, for lo! thou art in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 He said: Cast it down, O Musa! 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 He said: Take hold of it and fear not; We will restore it to its former state: 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 But We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 "Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant, and as a tyrant)." 24
