Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
