Forgiver (Ghaafer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ha-Mim. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high of this divine writ issues from God, the Almighty, the All-Knowing, 2 The forgiver of sin, acceptor of repentance, severe in punishment, owner of abundance. There is no deity except Him; to Him is the destination. 3 None but the unbelievers dispute regarding the Signs of Allah. So let not their strutting about in the land delude you. 4 The people of Noah and later factions also rejected the truth and every community plotted against the messenger sent to them, aiming to lay hands on him, and they contended [against his message] with fallacious arguments, so that they might defeat the truth, therefore I seized them. How terrible was My punishment. 5 And thus has the word of your Lord come into effect upon those who disbelieved that they are companions of the Fire. 6 Those who sustain the Throne (of Allah) and those around it Sing Glory and Praise to their Lord; believe in Him; and implore Forgiveness for those who believe: "Our Lord! Thy Reach is over all things, in Mercy and Knowledge. Forgive, then, those who turn in Repentance, and follow Thy Path; and preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire! 7 “O Our Lord! And admit them into the Gardens of everlasting stay which you have promised them, and those who are virtuous among their forefathers and their wives and their offspring; indeed You only are the Most Honourable, the Wise.” 8 And guard them against evil deeds; whomsoever Thou guardest against evil deeds on that day, on him Thou hast had mercy; and that is indeed the mighty triumph. 9
