Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
