The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the close of night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
